Crosswords

Out of the box Android phones don't allow you to install apps outside of the Android Market. This is for security reasons so you don't install malicious apps accidently. But it's easy to change that. To install the Crosswords App outside of the Android Market you have to update your settings. Follow the following steps:

The Crosswords Android App didn't change much since Android 1.0 it has been updated several times to keep up evolving with Android. Now it gets another update.

• Crossword List now ist sectioned like Outlook with sections for age of crossword inserted to the list. It doesn't sort crosswords by time of recently opened any more.
• Crosswords are downloaded in the background, you can continue playing crosswords change to other apps.
• New software keyboard with only 3 rows, eliminating unused keys and providing more space for the crossword.
• Zoom controls for easier access to zoom levels.
• Moving to the next field is skipping block fields and letters that have been revealed or checked and correct.

This is a release candidate version, you can download it before it will be available on the Android Market. This version 0.9.10rc1 has only minor changes to the previous v0.9.9. If you have Crosswords v0.9.7 or older you have to uninstall it before installing this version.

New in v0.9.10rc1

• Several users reported that they accidently selected Restart Crossword when they only wanted to select Check Crossword. I added an additional dialog to confirm when Restart Crossword was chosen and the crossword is not yet completed.
• I also changed the order of the Check and Reveal menu items. Check is usually chosen before Reveal, therefore I placed the Check menu items before the Reveal menu items.

• Android 1.6 or later version

This website is about the Android application Crosswords. Maybe you don't know if you already have Android on your smart-phone or portable media player such as the Archos 5 Internet Tablet. If you haven't seen anything about Android on your mobile gadget then you probably don't have Android.
